Sometimes, we get too involved in life that we forget about the things that really matter.  Instead of appreciating what we already have, we dwell on the things that we want (from others and/or material things) and don’t get.  It makes us bitter and mean.  And sometimes, we let our foolishness destroy our lives.

In today’s blog, I am going to appreciate the little things in my life that keep me happy.

  • Alone time.
  • Baths.
  • Blowing a dandelion into the wind.
  • Cuddling.
  • Dancing.
  • Giving and receiving hugs and kisses from my munchkins.
  • Going on dates.
  • Having a friend/family member to listen and empathize.
  • “I love you.”
  • Joking/Inside jokes.
  • Knowing that you’re in someone’s thoughts.
  • Laughing.
  • Long scenic drives.
  • Music.
  • Napping.
  • Reading—by myself and to my children.
  • Saying hello and goodbye to Dear Spouse as he leaves and returns home.
  • Silence.
  • Singing.
  • Sleeping in.
  • Sunny days.
  • “Thank you.”
  • The way he looks at me.
  • Tucking my kids in at night.
  • Volunteering.
  • Writing.

  1. I absolutely agree with you. Someone told me that one cannot always have everything their hearts can desire. He too says the littlest things we do also make a difference as well as giving us the chance to see what we should be appreciating rather than keep on harping for more and more only to end up being more miserable.

  2. So sweet! Thsi busy life really does takes a lot out of you sopmetimes that we often forget to be thankful for the blessing and things – simple things – around us that makes us happy. Nice post and thanks for the reminder. 🙂
